Our Rights Our Seeds Our Rights project is funded by Protestant Agency for Diakonia and Development for Bread for the World (BftW) – Protestant Development. The project is implemented by PELUM Tanzania through its Member Organizations (MOs) in Tanzania Mainland. The project aims at enabling smallholder farmers in the project areas have timely access to quality, affordable and diverse seeds of adequate quantity, and ensure seed legal frameworks favour farmer managed seed system (FMSS).

Project Objectives

1. Enabling Small scale farmers in the project regions use high quality, affordable, diverse and sufficiently available seeds from Farmer Managed Seed System (FMSS),

2. Legal framework conditions (guidelines, laws, regulations and strategies) newly defined up to the end of the project favour the seed rights of farmers and guide the processes of FMSS (multiplication, storage, sharing and exchange of diverse farmer seeds).

In achieving the desired results, the project approaches include capacity building (training), Networking and Collaboration, Lobbying and Advocacy, use of Information, Education and Communication materials, and media engagement.

3. Facilitate member to member learning on seed rights and sovereignty issues

4. Learning from other PELUM Country Secretariats and other stakeholders

8. Develop Local seed catalogue and App

9. Media engagement
